The fun bit of the museum project finally has started!!
Looking behind the scenes at their collections, meeting the curators and hearing the stories has been fantastic. It's amazing that there is so many creatures there that are being studied and sad that they are all dead. But then mind blowing again when you look at all the patterns and weird and wonderful stuff that nature has produced, and the extremes that some animals have gone to in response to environment (and food chain survival and looking good for the ladies/gents and keeping up with the smiths).
So far we've met with Mr Marine Invertebrates, and Mr Reptile. My collaborators are off tomorrow to meet with the Mammal and Mineral people!
